Llangollen went into their home game on Saturday knowing they would have to be on their best form to beat a Welshpool side that had started the season well. The Tower field men set their stall out from the start and raced into a 24-8 first half lead with powerful play from the forwards and the backs making incisive in roads into the Welshpool defensive line. The second half followed the pattern of the first half with LLan dominating proceedings and running out 41-15 winners. Outside half Roger Chadwick was the steering influence for LLan constantly turning the opposition round whenever they tried to gain a foot hold in the LLan half and launching the backs on break after break. LLan's points came from tries for prop Arran Davies, winger James Jackson, skipper Iestyn Hughes and fellow centre James Claybrook who finished with an impressive 23 point haul for the game of 3 tries and 4 conversions. Coach Mark Price praised the efforts of his side "today we played great rugby in attack and defence. The pack created a great platform and the backs caused them trouble time and time again. We will now carry on working on our game ready for Bangor away in 2 weeks which has been a bogey game for us in the past couple of seasons".
