Llangollen had concerns that they would be rusty following a two week break ahead of their home game against Rhyl on Saturday. Those concerns were washed aside with a dominant 49-5 home win. LLan dominated from the kick off, with the pack having superiority in the tight and thloose and the backs seeming to be able to cut through the Rhyl defensive line. LLan ran in 9 tries a brace for centre Scott Leckie and hooker Jack Wilson, one each for Number 8 Chris Jones, wingers Tom Jones and Nathan Cooke, skipper and scrum half Iestyn Hughes. Outside half James Claybrook also crossed the white wash but had a bad day with the boot and only converted 2 of the tries. Coach Mark Price said afterwards "we had our free week last week and then The Porth game was called off on the Friday night the week before, all the chances were we would be rusty but the lads have come out here today and played the best rugby of the season so far. We eased off a bit at the start of the second half but managed to pick the pace up and finish off strongly with a couple of tries".
